Once the emulsion has been exposed to the light for the required time period, it will become hard, and this will create a stencil on the screen. Then the screen is washed off with chemicals, and this will wash away all emulsion that is not part of the stencil. The stencil on the screen is then used to make a print onto the item to be printed.

In order to create a custom look, these inks can be mixed with varying concentrations to achieve the desired effect.
